  What are trees?

Trees are big plants and some are as big as a skyscraper. These living things grow so big because thy have large numbers of leaves , a hard and woody stem and strong branches that are protected under the bark.  These plants are called Forest plants.

Confers are the oldest of all plants having appeared about to 75 million years ago, and are know so because they have cones instead of flower to make their seeds, these trees generally grow tall and straight and do not have any big side-branches. Their leaves are narrow and needle-like and not broad. Its also called Forest plants.

There are many Forest plants in which trees rings is one a series of rings called tree rings are seen when a tree is cut across its trunk. As these  rings tell us about the growth of the tree, these are also known as growth rings. The size of the ring marks the growth of the tree in a years. So, the number of rings tells its age. The width of the ring indicates how will the growth was.to survive though season of less water. In the topics, this happens when the dry season starts. In the regions between  the tropics and the poles, trees seeds leaves in autumn as water as scarce in  winter. But in warm and damp tropical rain forests, water is available all your round even broad-leaved trees need not shed there live at all. Conifers, with there narrow needle-like lives needs less water and can survive through the water-short winter months without shedding their leaves. Forest plants.

                 Evergreen trees and deciduous trees

There are many Forest plants in which trees rings is one an evergreen  tree keeps  its leaves  all  the  year  round . each  leaf  usually  dark and waxy  green. lasts for years  on  the  other  hand leaves of  deciduous  trees  are lighter  green  in  color  and  fall  every  year . But now a days  Forest plants are deforested now a days.


Turning red


It is also one of the Forest plants It is in the shorter and colder days in  autumn the chlorophyll , the green  color  of the leaves, breaks down in deciduous trees, like the maple. This permits other beautiful colors- yellows, reds, browns and golds- to shine through the trees in this season.

Trees shed leaves

Thin trees like oak, ash and elm sheds, their leaves only once a year only the leaves turn which plants found in forest. So its called Forest plants.

Heartwood

Heartwood is dead wood found in the middle or heart of a tree trunk. It is dense and dark surrounded by the lighter and living  'sapwood' that has all the tubes to take water and nutrition to the tree leaves. Which are also found in forest. So its are also called Forest plants.

Tree supporting life


In a forest which plants are found which plants are called Forest plants. A big oak tree supports  life as numerous animals and plants thrive on it .birds make nests on Beaches and in holes and live there, insects feed on its leaves and live in the burrow in its bark, and fungi and ivy grow on its trunk,

 

Edible plants

Plants give us food


Its Plants are also like a Forest plants but these are found in domestic area and human  are grow its. Food is our basic necessity and plants provide the step food to most people of the world, be it is in the from of the bread, soy beans or porridge. To keep[ ourselves healthy, our body needs vitamins which we get mostly from fruits and vegetables.also they are used to make a number of mouth watering foods and drinks like strawberry starts, orange juice etc.

Edible grasses

Cereals are one of the most important food of the world and including rice wheat, maize, oats, barley and rye. All these are the names of grasses we eat. Usually, we eat the seeds  and grain of these grasses. The leave and the stalks are left to rot in order to make silage so that the animal can be fed.

Wheat

In cereals, what is considered to be the most important. Its cultivation started from the wild grass summer first in the middle east around 12,000 years ago. But today, more than one third of the population of the world gets it is basic food from wheat. Usually, wheat grain is grounded to floor so that you can make bread pasta and a lot of other things.

The green revolution

40 years ago, the farmers of north America and Europe started growing some special varieties of rice, wheat and maize that were of 'high yield' quality. The growth was not only fast but big also to yield bumper harvests and something 2-3 time in a year. In a little while, the idea got popular and it was adopted by India and other parts  of the world.

Effect of the green revolution

These height-yield crops turn out to be big harvests when the land is watered well and the farmer use lot of fertilizers, pesticides and machines. These days, farmer used to do 40 years ago. For this reasons, not only to environment is in danger but the farmers are also getting into debts from the suppliers of pesticides, seeds are fertilizers.

Root crop

The plant that are grown mainly for big and solid roods are known as root crop for example potatoes, cassava, yams and manioc. These roots are a great source of carbohydrates which provide energy to the body.

Paddy fields

The basic food for most of the population in Asia is rice. It is cultivation in flooded fields known as paddies for about three time in a year. on steep hillside, farmer build to keep these fields flood.

Corn fed


Maize is popularly known as corn in America. There are two type of corn. There is one with a big hand and big grains provides us with sweets corn and corn on the cob. The other one with a small head and small grains provides us with corn floor and corn oil.

 

Chocolate


Chocolate is made of cocoa power. The roasted and fermented beans of cacao pods are ground to the powder from. The cacao tree has these pods as fruit. This tree was originally found in and mountains of south America but today its cultivation is mainly done in west Africa and Caribbean.

Plant we eat

More than 12,000 species of plant can be eaten, but of to 100 only are cultivated as crops.

Plant give sugar

Originally sugar was made mostly from the juice of sugar cane , which is  a tall grass usually grown in the topical areas, mainly the Caribbean\. These days, sweet and thick roots of sugar beet are use to make sugar. This plant is grown in cooler places.
