Evolution When did the first humans live? THE FIRST TRUE HUMANS lived about 80,000 years ago. But there were human-like creatures millions of years earlier. These were called hominids. They were of different kinds. The earliest hominids were much like apes. They had long arms and a big jaw. But with passage of time, they evolved (changed) to become like humans.
