PLANTS
PROVIDE US with the large variety of useful materials. The most
significant ones are wood and paper. However, cotton for clothes, cork for wine
bottles, oils, rubber, dyes, rope and string, and many more materials that we
get from plants are also important material
Cotton head
Many OF the clothes we wear are made from only cotton, a natural fiber, or cotton combing with man-made fibers. We get cotton from the cotton flower that grows in warm areas. Its seed pods or 'bolls' hold a dense mass of fluffy fibbers, which is formed into strands of 'cotton lint'. Cotton clothes is woven from the lint.
Reed hut
In the past, people mostly used the local plants to make
boats and houses from reeds that grew in marshes. The South Americans and
Ancient Egyptians also made boats of weed. The marsh Arabs of southern lraq do
so even today
Paper from plants

specially grown for making paper. Even the wood from paper. Even the wood from
spruce, pine, aspen, poplar and eucalyptus found in natural forest is using
making paper. In South Asia, paper is
made from bamboo also paper can also made from grasses, straw and sugar cane.
Wooden house
Before the industrial Revolution, people most be live in the
villages, in house made of wood and that ched with reed or straw. Only the very
nice lived in brick or stone house.
Trees for wood
All trees give us wood, but the wood use for making things
is known as timber which is either soft wood or hard wood. Soft wood is from
fast-growing conifers like pine, larch, fir and spruce that grow in colder
places. Hard wood is from slow-growing broad-leaved trees such as oak from
topical trees like mahogany.
Plant carrier
Tankers carrying oil, the fuel used to run cars, bike,
tractor and fire power stations are actually
carrying the ancient remains of plant and animals.
What are fossil fuels?
Fuel like coal, oil and natural gas are known as fossil, the
name given to the remains of dead plants that got buried underground long ago
and gradually got squeezed and concentrated to from fuel over the long period
of time. Coal was made from giant ferns that grew in huge swamps and oil from
tiny plants and animals that lived in
warm seas 300 million years ago.
How do plant warm houses and run cars?
We used fuel for transportation, power generation and for
other needs. In developing countries, people mostly cook and keep warm by
burning wood in Brazil, cars run on a petrol-like fuel, topped from the copaiba
tree. In Europe and the USA and many other places on the world, the main fuel
used are fossil fuels, namely, coal, oil and national gas. So 80% of the fuels
we use is provided by plants.
Note- Today many moist important plants are risky because people cut trees for wood, medicinal herbs and any more. So our responsible save the forest and trees. Trees are most important for our life.We would stop deforestation of the plants and animals.
